Tomorrow when the war began, A book written by John Mardson and movie directed by Stuart Beattie. This fantastic film about a small town crumbling to pieces thanks to a massive invasion, for an unknown cause. The 7 young adults; Fiona, Homer, Lee, Ellie, Kevin, Corry and Robyn try to survive in their home town, now taken over by invaders.
Throughout this movie lots of spectacular things happen like: Exploding cars, Gun fights, swearing, Extreme flesh wounds such as; being shot directly in the head. Although these things may seem pretty cool, Most of these things weren't as extreme in the book. The movie also removed a few things such as Hermit's Hut, the murderer who killed his wife and child.
The movie was quite action packed and enjoyable. The director managed to capture most of the thrilling events in the book quite well, such as the digger that picked up Lee, bravo on that, and Hell was very well depicted. Some of the scenes had you sitting on the edge of your seat.
Upon hearing about a second movie in stall, I thought it would be quite interesting to see how well they managed to keep the story line. If they keep all of the scenes in from the book, I would quite enjoy it.
'Tomorrow when the War began' was an enjoyable film, and people who haven't read the book would probably enjoy this more because they don't know what they're missing. If I had a choice, I would preferably choose the book over the film.
